Same bug here on a Supermicro X8SIE-F with CentOS-6.5-x86_64
Found a another workaround:
Enter BIOS >> Advanced >> Advanced - Chipset Control >>
Change "Active State Power Management" to Enabled.
Default Bios setting is disabled.
After charging this setting no problems with "dead network" anymore,
before network would die in just 5 a 10 minutes.
